If you have scrolled past a photo of a crepe rolled up, sliced into neat rounds and lined up like a sushi platter, you have seen a crepe sushi roll. It is one of the most fun desserts on our menu at Waffle Bliss in Surrey, and one of the easiest to share. Here is what a crepe sushi roll is, how it differs from a regular crepe, and which flavours to order.
What is a crepe sushi roll?
A crepe sushi roll starts with a thin crepe that is spread with a filling, rolled up tightly and cut into bite-size pieces. The slices are served on a plate like a sushi roll and finished with toppings and drizzles. There is no fish and no rice; the "sushi" is all in the shape.
One early reviewer described our mango version as a crepe rolled up, cut into six pieces, with whipped cream, white chocolate drizzle and mango pieces on top. That is the idea: a crepe you can eat with a fork or your fingers, one piece at a time.
Why people love them
- Easy to share. Each roll comes in pieces, so a table of friends can all try some.
- Lighter than a loaded waffle. If you want something sweet but not heavy, a crepe roll is a good middle ground.
- Photo-friendly. The neat slices and toppings look great on camera.
- Eggless at Waffle Bliss. Our menu is made eggless, including our crepes.

The weekend crepe deal
On Saturdays and Sundays, our daily special is the Crepe Sushi Roll + Shake. Pair a roll with a shake like the Mango Bliss, Strawberry Fusion, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Dream, Cappuccino Crush or the Crackling Pistachio Heaven. It is a full dessert outing for one, or a shared treat for two. Specials run from 1 PM, and current prices are on the menu.
Crepe sushi roll vs waffle: which should you order?
Both are made fresh when you order, but they scratch different itches.
- Choose a crepe sushi roll if you want something light, shareable and easy to pick at.
- Choose a waffle with ice cream if you want hot and cold together and a heartier dessert.
- Choose both if you are with friends. That is what the table is for.
